Just Write
I want to be a freelance writer and have had a few articles published but I suffer from two maladies- laziness and fear of rejection. Laziness has to be the one I can effect most directly since I just need to get off my ass and write. The second is a little more difficult and I am trying to learn not to be afraid of publishers rejecting my work. Wil Wheaton, who played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: TNG, is a writer and his advice during an interview is to “not be afraid to suck”. I have to learn that is OK not to be great during the first effort and realize that I can fix the words on the page until it is good.
