12 Practical Steps for Learning to Go With the Flow

I could do a lot better about going with the flow of life and this list gives me hope that I can achieve it. Accepting people and the world for the way they and not getting frustrated or angry is difficult at best. I am going to start incorporating some of these suggestions into my life and see if I can improve my state of mind and spirit.

Survey Finds Teenagers Ignorant on Basic History and Literature Questions

As a History Major in college I find this article sad but not surprising. The thing I would like to know is where these teenagers were called geographically and socially. If the calls were made to kids in specific or impoverished areas then this survey is not very accurate on a national scale. Too often a survey can be made to give whatever results the surveying group wants. It is similar to asking a group of 5 subject matter “experts” a question and getting 5 different answers.

This is an incredible development and is evidence that shows like Star Trek and the 6 Million Dollar Man are great predictors of technology. This particular advancement has possible applications for both the military and civilian world. Imagine having on demand telescoping vision or a heads up display available for gaming or driving.

The teenage girl who is allergic to WATER

I have had allergies and I know people who have bad allergies but nothing like this. I can’t even imagine how bad it would suck to be allergic to water. I can’t imagine what it would be like not to enjoy a good swim or a hot shower.

EETimes.com - Nanoparticles could make hydrogen cheaper than gasoline

This could rock if it comes to pass and is practical. I have seen articles on compressed air cars in development and if these alternative sources of energy actually make it to market then we could finally be in a position to end our dependence on oil. Huzzah!

Students to save the Earth

Ok….this freaks me out a little. This sounds a lot like the movie Armageddon but is a real life event. I sure hope these guys are successful in this venture and I also hope the asteroid is a near miss and not on target for us as I plan to be here a lot longer.

Learn it lists

This is an interesting concept that I am going to try out. Basically this site gives you 10 words at a time in a foreign language you choose. The goal is to familiarize a person with a foreign language a little at a time to keep from being overwhelming.

Arcade Flashback

The Luna City Arcade brings back a flood of memories of my youth in the 80s. I must have spent a fortune in quarters on playing some of the most awesome games ever created like Joust, Donkey Kong, Galaxian, and list goes on…..

Prozac, used by 40m people, does not work say scientists

So let’s see….the business model is to market a drug as an antidepressant that works no better than the placebo and sell the crap out of it.
