Five free SMS services - Lifehacker

If you send a lot of text messages from your cell phone, here are some methods to do it on the cheap. My favorite is the AIM method to send text messages. Basically you add the cell phone number as a contact and you can send text messages from your chat window instead of from your phone. The recipient can reply to the text message and it shows in the chat window so it appears as a regular chat. I think it is great for those of us who hate typing messages on the phone keypad.
