Too many kids are unneccesarily medicated in this country. This article talks about the gifts that supposedly ADHD kids often have. Of course, the drug companies will refute this since they make zillions from the doping of kids.

Thank you for posting this. My son is extremely gifted but also has been diagnosed with ADHD. My biggest problem is that his teachers will NOT allow him in the classromm without his meds. And I can see that him being on the meds is making a major impact on his giftedness.

The drug has been used as a parent/babysitter for so long that it has become accepted as a necessity. Now that so many kids are drugged, the pharmaceutical companies are trying to convince adults that they have “Adult ADD” and need medication. I guess they need new customers.

The only reason they lean on meds is because the teachers are too overburdened, underpaid, and unsupported and to take on kids who would otherwise be disruptive can make an unappreciated job seem even more thankless. There have got to be better solutions than just drugging kids while their minds are still developing.

Thank you for finding this story. Now I don’t have to feel so stupid.

In Jesusistan, we have little need for “gifted” children. We only need children who can memorize Biblical verse.
