Summer Fading, Hollywood Sees Fizzle - New York Times
It is nice to see someone not blaming internet downloads as the reason why box office sales are so low. I wouldn’t mind paying $7 for a ticket if the movie is worth it. Most of the movies in the theatre suck. There are a few good ones that have done well but too many movies just aren’t good. That turns people off and many, like me, are willing to wait for Netflix to get the DVD.

This paves the way for private space travel. I think a privately owned company can do space travel more safely and cost effectively than NASA.

Outsourcing our souls

Read this news article and I think it is easy to see that all of the outsourcing of call centers and help desks is going to have a major impact on our privacy and possibility of identity theft. Employees at this call center in India were selling customer’s Bank PINS, credit card numbers, passport numbers, etc. for $10 a pop. With as much outsourcing as we do to places like India we are ripe for the picking. I am worried that this will come back to haunt us in a big way.
